Splunkbase & App Registry
The Deslicer App Registry integration gives agents deep access to the Splunkbase catalog and Splunk product builds. Agents can search apps, inspect configuration files inside releases, check trust and vetting status, query capabilities, and look up Splunk Enterprise and Universal Forwarder versions.

Capabilities
App Search & Details
Agents can search the Splunkbase catalog by keyword, category, or Splunk compatibility. For any app, they can retrieve detailed metadata including description, supported platforms, release history, and installation instructions.
Release File Inspection
Agents can list and read individual files inside a Splunkbase release archive — configuration files, spec files, Python scripts, dashboards, and more. This is useful for understanding how an app is structured, what inputs.conf stanzas it ships, or what custom commands it defines.
Configuration Items & Spec Files
Agents can query the structured configuration items (stanzas and settings) extracted from an app release. They can also retrieve .conf.spec files to understand what settings an app supports and their default values.
Capabilities Discovery
For any release, agents can discover what an app provides: sourcetypes, inputs, dashboards, saved searches, and other capabilities. This helps when evaluating whether an app meets your requirements.
Trust & Vetting
Agents can check the vetting and trust status of an app — whether it has passed Splunk Cloud vetting, its certification level, and any known compatibility issues.
Splunk Product Versions
Agents can query available builds of Splunk Enterprise and Universal Forwarder — filtered by version, architecture, and operating system. This is useful when planning upgrades or verifying compatibility.
Index Status
Agents can check the status of the registry's app index — how many apps are cataloged, when the index was last updated, and indexing progress.
